A Weekly Trading Process Review
Run a weekly trading process review covering watchlist coverage, quality rejections, chart hand-offs, alert health and recorded net outcomes.
A weekly trading process review connects discovery, chart analysis and outcome records. It asks whether the workflow operated as intended, where information was missing and which changes deserve a separate test.
The review is not a hunt for a new indicator after every difficult week. It is a structured check of the process you actually used, including candidates that never became trades.
Start with operational facts
Confirm that the correct symbols, settings and source intervals were used. Check alert coverage and delivery where alerts support the process. A missing stream or stale alert snapshot is an operational issue, not evidence about a trading edge.
Keep errors separate from normal analytical outcomes. BLOCKED, WAIT and data investigation can be correct results under a reliable workflow.
Review the process in layers
On smaller screens, scroll the table horizontally to review every column.
| Review layer | Weekly evidence | Useful question |
|---|---|---|
| Universe | Basket membership and valid coverage | Did the intended market get observed? |
| Discovery | Candidate states and rejections | Were quality rules applied consistently? |
| Chart hand-off | Review delay and rejection reasons | Did the shortlist lead to useful attention? |
| Execution | Actual fills and net costs, if applicable | Did implementation match the plan? |
| Outcomes | Recorded results and unresolved cases | What does the sample actually support? |
| Changes | Configuration and operational fixes | What should be tested separately next? |
Compare intent with behavior
Imagine the weekly plan called for two daily review windows, but the journal shows candidates were opened several hours late. Several attractive rows were stale by the time of chart review.
The first improvement may be the review schedule or queue size, not a lower freshness threshold. Diagnose the workflow before altering the analytical requirements.
In another week, several data limitations may come from one newly added instrument family. Investigate feed semantics and history instead of classifying those observations as normal market rejections.
Keep outcome review honest
If actual trades occurred, use net recorded results under a consistent R convention. Separate planned targets from realized outcomes and include losses. A favorable week does not validate the whole method, and an unfavorable week does not prove every analytical input is broken.
For analytical-only reviews, report process outcomes rather than fictional trading profits. Charts opened, rejected candidates and resolved data issues can be useful measures of the tool’s actual job.
Choose one evidence-based improvement
Select a bounded change with a clear purpose: repair an alert, remove a duplicate listing, clarify a journal field or test a different review interval. Preserve the previous configuration and define what would count as improvement.
Do not change several analytical thresholds at once if you want to understand their effect. A new version should have its own observation record.
Connect the tool roles
Use Crypto Setup Planner for selected-basket discovery, Dynamic Channels Elite for channel structure and Trading Suite for configured chart-context review. Add specialized tools only when they answer a missing question.
The weekly review should reveal whether those roles remain clear. More panels are useful only if they improve the process rather than duplicate evidence.
Frequently asked questions
Should I optimize the script every week?
Not automatically. Fix verified operational problems and test analytical changes deliberately. Frequent hindsight tuning weakens comparability.
What is a useful weekly deliverable?
A short record of coverage, rule consistency, unresolved issues, measured outcomes and one clearly defined next experiment.
